Trucks and "eco" rarely go together in one sentence.  With all of the hype about fuel mileage and getting the best deal on fuel costs, the truck industry has been trying to configure ways to add fuel efficiency to its already power-trained trucks.  This is a difficult task if anyone has ever driven in a truck before.

However, the 2014 Ram 1500 3.0L Ecodiesel has succeeded in this challenge.  This new truck combines a "European Diesel" with light-duty diesel to create this powerful, yet eco-friendly truck.  The manufacturer even goes so far to say that drivers "will hardly know they're driving a diesel!"  This truck will make nearly a silent noise when driving around quiet streets.  Experts and test drivers compare the quiet diesel noise to that of a Mercedes-Benz car.

There are several advantages that this gives the new Ram 1500.  It has more ability to haul heavy loads without being weighted down. For instance, this particular new Ram 1500 also has the capabilities of pulling a 9,200 pound load.  These numbers and statistics have drastically increased since inputting the eco-diesel in the Ram 1500.  Prior to the eco-diesel engine, the Ram 1500 was pulling around 3.800 pounds.  This new diesel is allowing the driver to pull nearly three times as much weight!

The exact fuel efficiency hasn't been released yet regarding the Ram 1500 3.0L Eco-Diesel, however, experts are estimating around a 20MPG city fuel economy and a 28MPG fuel efficiency for highway driving.  Compared to non-diesel V6 models, the fuel efficiency of the new Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is gaining is going to be a vast improvement among competitors in this class. These numbers for a huge truck is remarkable. With the over-the-top towing capabilities with the increased fuel efficiency, it is literally a win-win situation in terms of the power and economy offered by the all-new Ram 1500 Ecodiesel 3.0L V6.
