Ward's 10 Best for 2015 Includes Two Chrysler Engines

Chrysler Group's 3.0-L EcoDiesel V-6 engine was named to WardsAuto.com's 10 Best Engines for 2015, along with the new supercharged 6.2-L HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine. This is the second consecutive year that the EcoDiesel V-6 engine has been included on this prestigious annual list, and the first for the HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine.

Judges evaluated the EcoDiesel V-6 engine while in the all-new 2015 Ram 1500, making it the lone winner to be tested while in a pickup truck. In addition to this being its second straight year on the list, the EcoDiesel V-6 engine is also the only diesel engine among the honorees.

"These two distinctly different engines represent the wide range of powertrain-engineering expertise and technology at Chrysler Group," said Bob Lee, Vice President and Head of Engine, Powertrain and Electrified Propulsion Systems Engineering. "For their considerable might, they also are both highly efficient and refined - key hallmarks of Chrysler Group powertrains. Such attributes have helped power our vehicles to the top of the sales charts."

The HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine is the most powerful engine to be selected as a member of Ward's 10 Best Engines, with an exceptional 707 horsepower.

"A 707-hp engine in a car starting at less than $60,000 is an achievement all by itself, but what impressed WardsAuto editors beyond the V-8's prodigious output, diamond-coated washers, extra-strong alloy pistons and all the other extras that went into engineering this masterpiece, is how civilized the beast is in ordinary driving," said Drew Winter, editor-in-chief of Ward's Auto World and senior editor of WardsAuto.com.

The 3.0-L EcoDiesel V-6 engine is available in both the 2015 Ram 1500 full-size light-duty pickup and the mid-size 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The supercharged 6.2-L HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine is the heart and soul of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
