2015 Dodge Challenger Earns 5-Star Overall Safety Rating

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) handed down a Five-Star Overall Safety Rating to the all-new 2015 Dodge Challenger. Five stars is the highest possible score a vehicle can receive, and to garner such high marks is a special honor for the all-new Challenger.

"The new Dodge Challenger coupe further demonstrates our commitment to broaden the proliferation of advanced safety technologies, such as driver-assist features," says Scott Kunselman, Senior Vice President-Vehicle Safety and Regulatory, FCA-North America.

Individual front- and side-impact crash tests were conducted as part of the process to determine the overall safety rating, and the 2015 Challenger earned five stars in both tests.

Contributing to the high rating was the fact that the all-new Challenger comes complete with more than 70 safety and security features. The 2015 is no stranger to innovative features, with adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross path detection.

"The 2015 Challenger checks all the boxes," Kunselman says. "It affords premium safety and security in a stylish package that delivers a sporty driving experience."

The NHTSA also cited the available Forward Collision Warning (FCW) as one of the determining factors in their rating, since the all-new 2015 Challenger is the first car in its class to offer the innovative feature. Forward-facing sensors detect the potential for certain types of frontal collisions, alerting the driver with visual and audible warnings when detected.

Building upon the solid foundation forged by previous Challengers with new innovations and improvements, the 2015 Dodge Challenger is a bold leap forward for the model. The 2014 model was also the winner of Edmunds.com's Best Retained Value Award and has been honored with J.D. Power & Associate's APEAL Award for three consecutive years.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger is now available for lease or purchase at Dodge dealerships throughout the United States.
